Terms of Use

Yes! We're so sure you will love our service that we'd like you to try it free for 30 days. If at any time during that period, you decide Stash isn't everything we've said it is, you can cancel you trial offer without further obligation. Your files will be permanently and securely deleted. Nothing could be easier, and nothing could be more risk-free.

DigitalConfetti™ is an unstructured composition of data (of any kind).  STASH encrypts your files using AES 256 bit technology and then slices your data into smaller pieces before sending multiple duplicate copies to a number of different datacentres (that will also segment the encrypted file pieces within their own facilities).

Stash is a proprietary storage system. We took the very best technology out there and made it uniquely our own. This factor alone provides a level of protection beyond "out of the box" solutions. It's as if your stuff is on a planet that no one else knows is there.

We also utilize the most state-of-the-art security systems available in the world today, the ones used by banks, credit card companies and the military, and top it all off with unique, proprietary security protocols that both prevent hacks and stop hacks if they occur.

Last, Stash doesn't "live" on your computer, laptop or smartphone. This dramatically minimizes the opportunity for intrusion. Is there anything that's 100% impenetrable? No. If anyone tells you there is, they aren't telling the truth. Stash is as safe as it gets.

StashDaddy is a proprietary storage system. We took the very best technology out there and made it uniquely our own. This is a proprietary secure data management system, not an out-of-the-box solution. It's as if your data is on another planet that no one else knows is there. We utilize the most state-of-the-art physical and virtual methods and technology in existence.  Even if someone has access to the storage locations, all they will see is DigitalConfetti™, small pieces of encrypted files.  An attacker would have to find all the pieces, reassemble them in order, and then break the encryption on the file to get access to your data. This is as secure as can be.

Stash is not the place where you put the things you share casually, like at DropBox, Shutterfly, Evernote, or other sharing sites. These are excellent for when you want to share. Stash is a keeper, not a social butterfly. It's the place to store your most important stuff. We offer a unique combination of the strongest security measures with the most flexible membership options and the most intuitive user experience. Add to that the extremely attractive pricing and the unparalleled mobility and remote access from any device that has the capability of accessing the Internet, and we believe we have a service that is simply superior to any other.

  1. Only our customers have access to their unique encryption keys, STASH does not.
  2. STASH cannot access your data, our staff has no access, and we cannot recreate or replicate your data.
  3. STASH uses an authentication method that doesn’t rely on complicated schemes, insecure SMS messages, or one-time codes that are easy to socially engineer.

For your convenience, we offer a number of different membership options based on the amount of storage space you think you might need. Basic if you have a few file folders to store. Standard if you've got a drawer full. Premium and Platinum if you have a file cabinet of stuff to scan or lots of music, pictures, & books to save. If you find out later you need more than you originally thought, no problem, you can always modify your account. You can also buy on the fly when the storage meter that keeps track of your space indicates you’re in need. If you're concerned about whether there is a threshold, don’t be. You'll run out of things you want to store before we run out of space.

No. Not even anyone at Stash. The only way anybody else can see your stuff is if you specifically authorize them to do so in your account settings. Even then you can put strict limitations on exactly what they can see and when. Otherwise, it is your eyes only.

See the Terms of Use section for specifics in this area. In general, as long as it isn't stolen or obtained illegally, it's Stashable.

Your files remain encrypted and segmented for the entire time you choose to store them with STASH.  Anyone with access to the storage locations will only see DigitalConfetti™.  Only you will be able to access and decrypt your data.

In ultra secure servers in multiple locations that we have set up exclusively for Stash. The important thing is that your information is off-site. If anything should happen to your computer or your home, or any other data location we’ve got your back. You can access and download everything that you’re keeping at Stash any time without question.
With Smart Folders, you can quickly and easily sort large numbers of files into specific (smart!) folders. When you create a new Smart Folder, you can specify what file types (.jpg, .doc, .ppt, etc.) you would like to appear in the folder. You can also have files uploaded in a certain range of dates appear in the folder, or files with specific phrases or words in their names. To create a Smart Folder, simply click the "New" button next to Smart Folders section in the lower-left of your Stash and fill out all applicable fields. When you are finished, click "Save," and all the files with the attributes you specified will automatically be put into your Smart Folder.

If you want to share something from a Smart Folder, move it to a regular folder. Smart Folders cannot be shared as is.
When choosing a plan, you can select an extra layer of encryption for your stash.  If you do, you will be able to see the names but not the small thumbnail pictures of your files until you download them to your computer.

Stash is totally secure without extra encryption. However, if you are someone who locks their car in a locked garage, extra encryption is for you. Extra encryption = total peace of mind for some users.

We use TLS/SSL to ensure data in transit is protected before reaching our gateway, where it is then encrypted using AES 256 bit algorithms and sliced into pieces.
